Starting your college education can feel overwhelming, but we’ve outlined your next steps in the Fulton Schools to make it easier.
Follow these steps, then keep scrolling for more resources to help new students like you get off to a great start!
There are so many ways to jump-start your future in the Fulton Schools, and we encourage you to leverage the opportunities ahead. Step 1: Submit final transcripts
Contact your current school and request that they mail a copy of your final transcript to ASU.
Without a final transcript, you may not receive financial aid or register for classes beyond the first semester. Your current school must send your final transcript by mail to ASU Admissions.
Step 2: Learn about financial
aid options
Financial aid starts with the FAFSA. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is an application you fill out every year to determine how much financial aid you’re eligible to receive.
It is the first step towards receiving financial aid at ASU.

Pay your enrollment deposit
To secure your place at ASU, pay your enrollment deposit right away. As an admitted student who has paid their enrollment deposit, you can register for New Student Orientation Experience, secure a Sun Devil ID card and reserve university housing.

ASU New Student Orientation Experience–get ASU ready!
After you pay your enrollment deposit, you can start the ASU New Student Orientation Experience.
The ASU New Student Orientation Experience gives you information, resources, tips and tools you need to make a successful transition to college at ASU. You will
- Connect with your Fulton Schools academic advisors,
- Finalize your class schedule,
- Become familiar with the ASU campus,
- Learn about opportunities and support networks available to you as a Sun Devil.
Once you have paid your enrollment deposit, start the New Student Orientation Experience through your My ASU account.
Take the math placement assessment
You must complete the ASU Math Placement Assessment prior to orientation and enrollment into your first semester math course, unless you have transferred an equivalent prerequisite course. Learn about the ASU Math Placement Assessment and take it online.

Learn about Residential life in the Fulton Schools
As a first-year Fulton Schools student, you will live in one of our residential communities. Find out more about Fulton Schools Residential Life.
E2 – A camp for incoming first-year students
Join other first-year students in the cool, forested mountains of northern Arizona for Fulton Schools’ unique E2 camp. Held just a couple hours north of Phoenix, E2 camp immerses you in fun activities where you can start making new friendships with other first-year students. Activities are led by Fulton Schools faculty, staff and upper-class students. Learn more about E2 for incoming first-year students and sign up for a session.
Transfer students
Follow these steps to complete your transfer to the Fulton Schools at ASU:
Complete the ASU Transfer Orientation
Go to My ASU, log in with your ASURITE id, and complete the ASU Transfer Orientation. It will be listed as a priority task.
Complete the Fulton Schools Transfer Orientation
Next, register for the online Fulton Schools transfer orientation. This program will prepare you to meet with your academic advisor and show you how to get involved at the Fulton Schools.
Check on your transfer credits
To check on your transfer credits, go to asu.edu/transfercredit. Log in with your ASURITE id and click “My Transfer Courses” in the upper-right corner. You will see the progress and status of transfer course evaluations. Note: Some courses may require a syllabus for evaluation.
Enroll in FSE 310 and get a credit for becoming a better student
FSE 310, Transfer Success in FSE (1 credit), is a course created to help Fulton Schools transfer students like you become a successful engineering student and ultimately, engineer. The class will introduce you to the unique culture, opportunities and challenges at ASU and within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. Enrollment is optional but strongly encouraged!

Check your Priority Tasks list in My ASU regularly. Complete any pending items quickly.

New Student Experience
ASU and the Fulton Schools both have online New Student Experience orientation sessions. By following the above steps, you’ll complete your ASU orientation.
Next, you’ll complete your Fulton Schools New Student Experience, where you can learn how to customize your Fulton Schools education, and make the most out of everything we have to offer.
